Radioplay!

Sorry we've been so laxidasical on our posting the past few months. School is over, though, so let the mad posting party begin!

Let's begin with an event from a few weeks ago. Here's the setting: James & James are invited onto the ISU radio program (88.5 KURE) by "Optimus Fly," a DJ who also happens to be a real person named Eric who is a good friend of ours. We'll probably have to do this again, because it was so much fun. We hope you think so too!

The Guadalupdate

Hello everyone,

It's been a while. How have you been? What's the haps? Who's dating who?

In the last month we have:

- Played the Ames Music Walk, sponsored by the Ames Tribune, where we were heard by more than 10 pedestrians, Mike Despard (who drove by and seriously considered yelling, "you guys suck!"), and a concerned Ames Tribune reader finally solved the puzzle of how to pronounce James Pusey's last name (pyoo-see).

- Played a show outside Cafe Milo for Haverkamp Properties, where we improvised such hits as, "Can't have your Kingpin without your Valentino's pizza," "Get ripped like James Pusey at Nutrishop," and "When you get your shirt dirty in India, get it cleaned at Grand Cleaners." We played for about 15 college aged apartment tenants, a veteran named Ken and his wife Barbie, and twenty representatives from local companies, who we played jingles for.

- Recorded a session with the acclaimed wizard Brian "Brones" Jones. We got some vocal help from Jase Rhode, as well as moral support from a bunch of other guys in the room. Randomness ensued, and we wrote song on the fly about Pittsburgh metal and another one about the snow in Boise. We're releasing some of the highlights of the day for free, and you can get them, as well as all our other freebies, here:

- Played for the "Betas and Burgers" charity fundraiser. It was at a fraternity, and our biggest hit was an improvised ditty about the fraternity and Jacob Thompson, our friend who let us play.

- Wrote and played a song for the Salt Company Fall Retreat Promotion. It was recorded, and we decided to release it as the music to an extreme skate video. Youtube wouldn't load it, so you'll just have to check out James Pusey's facebook to see it.

Lastly, we have a really exciting show coming up October 31. We're playing at Zeke's with Atombender, Calvary, and The Dot Syndrome. Show starts at 7, and it's only $3 if you're wearing a costume. We're pretty excited to preview some new material and celebrate Halloween like it's meant to be celebrated - with friends.

Aaarrrgghh

Ahoy! This weekend was a lot of fun, as James & James were able to be a part of a little side project - six pirates singing a parody of Billy Joel's "The Longest Time" at church! It was a promotional skit for Cornerstone Church's family ministry, D6, and it was a blast. We don't have video of the actual performance...but here's a video from one of our many practices at Jenni and Paul Sabino's house.

The pirates are, from left to right: Kevin Lee, Doug Johnson, Jase Rohde, James Laugerman, Isaac Drew, and James Pusey.

Stay tuned for more James & James news! We're working on some new material, which should be ready for our next show - FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 11 @ CAFE MILO - 7:00 p.m.

To Guadalupe and Beyond!

Hello internet peoples!

We, the members of James & James, hereby declare ourselves, "Bloggable!"
We're just getting started, so give us some patience, but we promise to make this blog, at the very least, more interesting than that crazy "Icanhazcheezburger" one that's giving the internet a bad name.

Expect pictures, video, show schedules, exclusive interviews, and more things we haven't even thought of to come within the next few weeks!

Until next time,
James & James
